My name is Natalia Kuchinova, psychologist, teacher, candidate of psychological sciences, head of the department of social and humanitarian training and psychology at the Western Donbass Institute of MAUP. I am the mother of Daniel, who is 5 years old. We have completed the third stage of treatment. Pregnancy and childbirth went well, the child developed and did everything according to average standards. The only thing that always kept me on edge was the lack of speech. After a severe enterovirus at 1 year 10 months, the child experienced high fever and severe hospital stress. The child’s emotional state has changed. He did not react to the addressed speech, he himself spoke individual sounds, but there were no words! During this period, I also experienced great grief in my family. This led to severe depression. I am writing to myself because now I understand that my condition directly affected the development and condition of my child!!!
By the age of three, individual words still began (mom, dad, and animal sounds), but there were no phrases, much less sentences. We contacted a neurologist, reported speech delay and prescribed vitamins. We continued to study at home, since the speech therapists we contacted did not accept individual lessons. My worries and anxiety grew every day, no matter where I turned, everyone wrote me contacts of various neurologists. I didn’t go to them, because I understood that medications wouldn’t help, I needed something else.
Starting in January 2023, Daniil suffered from severe infections again, which were accompanied by a rise in high temperature, IVs, hospitals… The result, the child began to scream, very anxious, shouted out different sounds, demanded everything with tears, could come up to any remark and hit his head against the wall and cry because he is in pain. It was impossible to go into the hospital; I was very afraid of the “white coats”. The reaction to any drug was tears and the phrases “don’t be afraid”, “it doesn’t hurt”, “don’t cry”.
There was constant tension in relationships in the family. With my anxiety, fears and constant panic with tears, I brought the whole family, especially my husband, into despondency. Misunderstanding and conflict grew every day in our relationship.
I started calling everyone I knew and looking for help!!! I gave my child “diagnoses”, and this made it even more difficult for me. And my call to my good friend, who once worked with children, yielded results! She recommended contacting the institute with Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vagif Mamedovich Rakhmanov.
After the first stage, Daniil had a breakthrough in development!!! All our friends and relatives saw this. Danya began combining words into phrases from the third treatment procedure. Later, small sentences began: “Mom, look, the train is coming,” “Dad, turn on the cartoons with the remote control.” It was a breakthrough!!! On the 12th day of treatment of the first stage, to my question “What is your name?”, Daniil answered “My name is Danya.”
My son became much calmer, his hyperactivity went away, he stopped shouting loudly for no reason, and began to react to everything calmer. He stopped banging his head if something wasn’t the way he wanted it. It became possible to go to the store with him and agree on anything. I began to understand the spoken word more, and at the everyday level there was more understanding about requests to do something. There was also a breakthrough in self-care skills! Basically he tries to do everything on his own (get dressed, put on his shoes, pour himself water, etc.). I sat on the potty, after the enterovirus, I was afraid to sit on the potty, we forgot about diapers!
There were also changes at the cognitive (cognitive) level. I began to concentrate attention on details, gained more understanding in mental activity, began to draw more, write letters myself, a lot of role-playing games appeared, etc.
After the second stage, my son’s diary improvement was 50%! This was a great result that we didn’t even expect! The pronunciation of sounds has become clearer. The speech therapist was very surprised by the child’s breakthrough! Greater understanding of the material being studied and more difficult tasks no longer frighten Danya. He easily learns the material and shows interest in new things. He loves to have books read to him, his favorite is about space, he learned the names of the planets.
I developed a sense of humor, began to joke, play around and look carefully at the reactions of adults. There is also a feeling of shame; he clearly understands what can be done and what is not advisable.
More and more sentences appear in speech. He can’t get anything in the house by pointing his finger, the whole family is forced to talk. This is the professor’s recommendation, we strictly follow it, and it gives excellent results!!!
Now visits to doctors go smoothly. There is no shouting, he says hello, Daniil is absolutely not afraid of anything, he lets himself be heard, shows his throat. Previously, this was not possible; there was screaming and tears of fear. Even our pediatrician was surprised by Daniil’s calmness.
The fear of the sounds of the airplane, hair clipper and nebulizer is gone!!! Now we walk calmly and a flying plane doesn’t scare him. We cut your hair with a clipper without any problems, and do inhalations with a nebulizer when necessary! Danya has generally grown up and become smaller e get sick, there are acute respiratory viral infections, but without high temperatures.
After the third stage – the results according to the diary are 75% improvement!!! The professor said – healthy!!! And I agree, since we really see a lot of positive things in the child’s development!
Behavior has completely changed. Danya became patient while waiting for his turn; We walk on the street, on the playground – he doesn’t run away, he listens, he plays. He reacts calmly if he needs to go home; before there was constant screaming and protest.
Even greater understanding of addressed speech. Now we get an answer to all the questions asked to him. We have been waiting for a long time for the moment when our son would answer questions related to feelings. And this moment has come! Danya also began asking questions: “Where is my mom?”, “Where is dad, why isn’t he at home?”, “Shall we go to kindergarten to see the children?” etc. This is a huge achievement for us!!! Until the third stage of treatment there were no conscious questions… there were repetitions of questions – echolalia. By the way, echolalia has gone away almost completely. There were manifestations during the period of exacerbation during treatment, but everything went away.
The child’s games have become very diverse. We have now made a revision of the toys, removed everything that was designed for younger ages, added a number of puzzles – ages 5-6+, more construction sets, vehicles for role-playing games (special vehicles, vehicles for construction, cubes for towns, etc.) .).
Dani has no interest in phones. He prefers to play, draw, sculpt, put together puzzles, etc. We can turn on the TV, but very rarely. Sometimes he asks to listen to lullabies or watch them about animals and insects. Before, it was just an addiction. He wanted to watch cartoons all the time.
Danya goes to kindergarten. He’s in a regular group. After the third stage of treatment, the son began to communicate with other children. He said hello and hugged me when he came back after the break. He says “Goodbye” to all the kids when he leaves. He began to talk and interact more with the teacher, who also noted positive changes in the child’s behavior after treatment.
During the classes, performance indicators in all cognitive processes improved. Memory – remembers everything perfectly! Thinking – all thinking operations work synthesis, analysis, generalization, etc. This was sorely missed in the classroom. Attention – concentration has improved, I have become more diligent. Imagination works at a high level! He has become so inventive, deftly coming up with different stories, games, buildings, etc.
I also noticed that the fear of unexpected, loud sounds had completely disappeared. Danya is not afraid of anything, and if she hears any sound, she simply looks with interest and curiosity to see what it is.
And, of course, the speech became even more understandable and intelligible. Slowly begins to construct more complex sentences!
Self-service – he does everything himself. And what a helper he is at the dacha! Together we planted trees, roses, removed old leaves, carried branches!
During our treatment with Professor Daniil has grown, matured, and most importantly, he is healthy!!! There is a slight runny nose, but mostly healthy!!! Although we go to kindergarten for additional classes, we have constant contact with the children. For me, this is very important, because we went through a lot of things, now I don’t even want to remember it.
I received treatment from the professor. The results are that the anxiety and fears that tormented me for a long time are completely gone. There was a feeling of optimism and faith in yourself, in your strength, in your child!!! No more apathy and weakness. Every morning I am now in a cheerful state, as my sleep has become sound and calm. Headaches are gone!
And most importantly, my spine does not hurt!!! For more than 20 years my back has been hurting, I couldn’t sit for a long time due to an old injury, I also have 2 protrusions in the lumbar region, every three months I had injections. I’m doing well now. I get out of bed easily, I can sit and work, and my spine is fine, there is no pain. This is a real miracle for me!!!
I am very grateful to Professor Vagif Mamedovich for treating my husband. When we brought our son for treatment, my husband experienced a severe exacerbation of pancreatitis (pancreas). Also liver problem, heartburn, headaches, anxiety, neuropathy of the right arm (after serious injury and surgery). After the first treatment procedure, the pain in the pancreas and stomach completely disappeared. This problem is gone!!! Just a miracle! Previously, he was examined in gastroenterological centers and prescribed a bunch of medications, but the result was always minimally temporary. My husband and I always go to treatment together. It was our mutual decision that the path of recovery needed to be taken as a family. Now in our family there is harmony, understanding, support, love and friendship! We are a team, which means we are strong and can work together to do everything for the child’s recovery! The eldest daughter helps us a lot, Daniil adores his sister and tries to repeat everything after her. The age difference is 8 years, but this does not prevent us from playing together, studying, and talking. Now my sister is interested in music and dancing, Daniil sings songs, sings them, dances with her sister.
The path to a child’s recovery is difficult, but the main thing is faith and a lot of work! I still can’t believe that the first time I saw the professor, my child was crying, screaming, afraid of everything (medical uniform, gowns…) And at the third stage, Danya ran for treatment with a smile, waited for the professor, and when Vagif Mamedovich entered the room, smiled, offered his hand to say hello and said “Good morning, Professor!”
During the third stage of treatment, we got to know other parents better. DISA was very productive. I am very grateful for such a friendly atmosphere and support!!! May God bless all our children with good health!!!
