Good afternoon! I’m Oksana, Masha Sharko’s mother. We live in the city of Dnipro. I am currently a stay-at-home mom (before maternity leave I was a head of the cleaning department), and Masha’s dad is an auto-electrician and a truck diagnostics specialist. My phone number is 0999492616. Masha is 7 years and 4 months old. We came to the Institute when she was 5 years and 3 months old. She had a speech development delay: Masha didn’t say anything, didn’t really understand what people wanted from her. There was almost no eye contact, her head was constantly down, and she hid her eyes. It was very difficult because she couldn’t say or do anything. We had problems with bowel movements, going to the toilet, sleeping, and chewing food. She couldn’t chew large pieces at all; we used a blender.
With this set of problems, we came to the center. Professor Vagif Mamedovich immediately took us in, and we started treatment on the same day. We have now completed 7 stages, and a lot has changed during this time: Masha has completely changed, she has become communicative, her many fears have disappeared, and speech has appeared. She looks everyone in the eye, communicates well, and started talking after the second stage. Her speech began with a renewal, and now she speaks very well, clearly, and has almost no problems with letter pronunciation. She has become kind, has a great love for animals, and new interests have appeared: modeling clay, and school preparation. I was able to send her to a public group with other children, and she is no different from children who developed on time without any deviations. I don’t consider speech delay a deviation, but it was there, and it led to these problems.
I didn’t constantly go to see neurologists, but we knew that something was wrong with the child after the DPT vaccination, which was given to us late at 8 months. After that, the child’s smile disappeared, and very severe tantrums began. The child was hysterical, throwing and tossing everything, and sleeping poorly. After this, we turned to a neurologist. She said: “Wait, this doesn’t mean anything yet.” We went to a neurologist a second time at the age of 2 years and 8 months, when we realized that her speech was stalled. The child was not speaking at the level of a three-year-old. We were told: “Wait, everything will get better, take some vitamins!” But I didn’t buy her anything for her brain. We were diagnosed with a speech delay and minimal brain dysfunction. We continued to hope that speech would appear, but it never happened.
Thanks to the Professor, we sighed with relief. The child started behaving like a normal, neurotypical child. At the 6th stage, we thought we had reached a key point, that is, the child had already come out of this state, but it turned out that when we came to the 7th stage, the child opened up even more, and started talking to everyone around her in the center: parents, adults, grandmothers, grandfathers, dads, and children.
After completing the 8th stage, it became even better: Masha began to stand up for her opinion not with her fists, but with conversation, she gives advice to everyone, has started to write and read a little, makes a plan for the day, and it turns out she can’t be without activities, she’s bored on her own and asks: “Organize a playgroup with kids!”. This is how we understood that our child still needs more. We understand that we will go as long as it takes because Masha needs to develop, and this year we are going to the first grade. We are happy that it turned out this way, that we came here, to the Professor!
Not only Masha was treated, but our whole family. My daughter was treated for neurosis because she has a terrible character and terrible behavior. He more or less took her under control, and now she is more calm. She has become more positive and more aware. My son was treated: he didn’t sleep and had a head contusion. After treatment, his “cauldron” pains went away, and he started sleeping normally at night. My husband was also treated, he feels good, and has a general state of peace in his soul and relaxation. Well, he was exhausted, of course, because he is the only one working in the family, and I am with the child all the time. He needed this, and he is also very grateful.
I was treated. I had a lot of “female problems,” first of all: the slightest stress, and my lower abdomen would ache. My fibroids have decreased. I constantly had some kind of discharge. I had an IUD, and it’s still there. The IUD lived separately, and I lived separately. There was always an inflammatory process, but now everything is calm, nothing bothers me, urinary incontinence has passed, and “cauldron” pains have gone. I used to yell, I had such severe nervous breakdowns, I could quarrel with my husband. Now, if this happens, it is calmer, more balanced, I don’t touch my husband at all, because I miss him! He is always at work. Well, that is, everything has gotten better in our family thanks to the Professor.
What I wanted to say is that the whole family really needs to undergo treatment, the whole family needs to go and treat the child, first of all, to help the staff, not to think that the center’s staff should do all the work for you. If you came here, you need to get involved from the first day, and most importantly, perform your main duties for the child and the procedures.
I will also say that we are from Dnipro, but it is clear that it is easier for us to do this. But there must be precision. I set such a goal for myself — to have a pharmacist’s precision in days. If we are supposed to come in 10 days, we must make an appointment exactly on that day. I try to do that. If we are supposed to come for the next stage on a certain date, then we must try to make an appointment on that very day. Come without missing a month or two. So we go to the Professor precisely; if we need to be there at a certain time, we arrive at that time. We are precise with the days, and you know, it helps us a lot, and the treatment itself as well. And you can even see it a day before we need to go for a support session, Masha might be in a bad mood somewhere, some nuances, you can already see that’s it, tomorrow we need to go for sure.
I am grateful to the Professor, and to the entire team for such attention. A lot has been done for us, we went through everything together. We are already like one family, that is, we go and we already all know each other. I saw a lot of people, and I understood a lot about the problems other people have. And when you look at this, you say, “Maybe your problems aren’t so bad after all!” Therefore, I wish everyone who is just starting on the path of treatment: don’t be afraid, dare, believe in your child, and trust the Professor without limits!
