Hello everyone. I’m Marina Evan’s mom. We have been living in Bytom Poland for about 15 years. In early June we finished stage 3. Like most of the stories here, ours began in a similar way.
Up to a certain point, the child developed normally, looked into the eyes, responded to the name, was energetic, played and crawled with older brothers, cooed. At the age of one and a half, the child began to fade away:
– 0 reactions to his name
– hysterics with or without reason, such that he was choking and vomiting
– he played only by himself, spinning the wheels on the cars and putting everything in a row or according to his own scheme, and God forbid someone correct or break the scheme.
– the cooing that was there went away
– we could not go into the store with him, because he started screaming inside so much that those around him were shocked, and looked at us as if we were torturing him. At times, I thought that sooner or later the police and child protection services would knock on our door.

A pediatrician advised us to see a psychologist when Evan was about two years old. Since he was often sick during the first year of his life (mostly everything was related to his throat) and visits to her were quite frequent. After the first visit to the psychologist, we were diagnosed with childhood autism.
They didn’t prescribe any treatment, although I’m sure it was for the best and we didn’t stuff the child with incomprehensible drugs. We were only prescribed corrective classes with a speech therapist, a physiotherapist, sensory integration.
At 3 years old, we got to kindergarten, a special group. During the first year, minimal changes in behavior appeared, he became a little more independent.
We got to the first stage in September 2023, Evan was 4.2. And already, somewhere on the third day of treatment, we noticed changes.
We came for treatment with a zero child, everything was completely absent:
– No speech
– No pointing gesture
– No eye contact
– No understanding of spoken language, he responded to his name after 7 or 10 times, not to mention fulfilling requests
– Selectivity in food
– Sensory hypersensitivity
– did not identify colors and their names
– Lack of logical and cause-and-effect thinking
– did not know body parts
– did not repeat anything (actions, sounds, emotions)
– did not dress himself
– sometimes we had to feed him
After the first stage:
– reaction to the name from the first time, even from strangers or unfamiliar people
– pointing gesture
– understanding of spoken language
– became calmer
– hysterics went away
– stopped undressing during hysterics (earlier he could even start undressing on the street)
– you can negotiate with him
– started shaking his head yes or no
– somewhere a month after returning, he began to repeat sounds. Previously, there was no understanding-repeat.
After the second stage:
– spinning while sitting on the floor went away
– interest in playing with other children appeared
– concentration and perseverance in class improved – this point was noted by people who saw him only 2 times. Specialists in creating programs for preschools and schools come to their kindergarten to help teachers. So they saw him in October after the first stage and in April, they were pleasantly surprised by his growth in terms of understanding tasks, requests, as well as his some kind of communication and answers.
– he began to misbehave and make eyes.
Before our trip to the third stage, I heard the long-awaited – Mom from Evan.
After the third stage:
– reaction to the emotions of others, can join in with laughter, or start to feel sorry if someone is crying
– understanding of the associative series
– more attempts and efforts when asked to repeat words.
If before stage 3, when, for example, he wanted to drink, I asked him to repeat the phrase “Give me a drink,” then now if he walks by and pulls me to the water tap, I just need to say the phrase “Evan, what should I say?” And in response I hear “Mama yay (give) ich (drink).”
During treatment, Evan had an increased appetite, his mouth did not close 😊.
He also independently opened the search engine on the tablet and pressed the letters, showed with his eyes that I should pronounce them and he would repeat them after me.
He knows numbers up to 10 and shows them randomly, if you put a word together from letters and ask him to show one, he will show it too.
Of the most significant complaints upon admission, only the lack of speech remains, but I see Evan’s efforts, attempts and results and I know that speech is not far off. You just need to work and believe.
Anyone who saw Evan during meetings, he did not get off his motorcycle (balance bike). So, his balance bike has been standing on the landing since April, he didn’t even want to touch it. For a week after returning, I asked him every day when he left the apartment for the kindergarten, “Would he like to ride it?” He kept shaking his head no. And one day he agreed, and now I can’t go anywhere without it, even the 3 meters from the entrance to the car I have to ride my bike.
As for me, the depressive state has gone, hay fever and accompanying allergies have gone fluff and dust (I have suffered from allergies since I was 10 years old). Meteorological dependence has passed, due to a knee injury, when the weather changed, my leg would simply twist, and I wanted this leg to disappear altogether.
And of course, many thanks to Professor Vagif Mamedovich Rakhmanov and all the staff of the clinic, who give a chance and confidence that everything will be fine with our children.
We are waiting and planning a trip to the fourth stage.
