Oleg is loved by everyone in his family: grandparents, parents, and his older brother, a student. The boy has been growing up in an atmosphere of love and kindness all his 8 years. The family are hereditary doctors, so the health of the grandson and son was also carefully monitored. However, Oleg is currently undergoing the first stage of treatment at our Institute. The cause of his illness is an example of how a seemingly ordinary childhood scare can be detrimental to health. And how war hurts not only on the battlefield, but also deep in the rear.
On that autumn day in 2022, it was loud in Dnipro… The working hours were coming to an end, someone had already arrived home after work, someone was on the road. Oleg and his parents just entered the apartment, and a thriller began outside the windows… Only not a movie one, but a real one. Rockets flew into the area of the YuMZ plant, near which is the house where the boy’s family lives… Hum, noise, ringing, explosions – all this was heard and seen by the whole family. They were dressed in something, and in that they ran to the first floor, then to the basement. Everything around was full of fear and anxiety. Oleg did not cry, did not scream, at first glance, the boy was not affected by what was happening.
Almost the entire next day, the child slept, did not get out of bed. And the next day he began to feel nauseous, vomited, and had a neck spasm. At that time Oleg could not speak, could not breathe, but was conscious. Then his right leg began to bend, convulsions began.
We turned to one of the children’s hospitals in the region, – says the mother, a doctor by profession, – then to another. An encephalogram was performed, which showed epiactivity. We were first told that it was a psychosomatic syndrome, then a degenerative dystrophic syndrome. We passed all possible tests, worked with two psychologists, consulted a psychiatrist, who prescribed antidepressants and the drug Zoloft, diagnosed panic attacks.
No positive changes came from his reception. Nausea and vomiting, which ended with a neck spasm, did not go away. We kept going back and forth between doctors. Epilepsy was even suspected, and Depakine was prescribed – an anticonvulsant drug that is taken during epileptic attacks.
They took my son to one of the regions of Western Ukraine to see a doctor. They went to Truskavets for a month to change the situation for their son. Then we went to Europe: to Poland, Germany, Austria, but it didn’t get better than Oleg. These attacks stopped only during sleep, but he could not sleep because of the pain. We tried to fight the attacks with the help of sibazon, a strong sleeping pill.
In May, a colleague asked me: “Have you been to Professor Rakhmanov’s?” And then I, the doctor myself, remembered everything I had heard about the miracles that happen during his treatment. This is how we did it: we traveled all over Ukraine and Europe, but at home, in Dnipro, we did not turn to the professor, Poland, Italy, Spain and other countries. And many residents of Dnipro do not know about Professor Rakhmanov’s method.
When we came to the professor, he asked Oleh to describe his fortune during the attacks. Here’s what my son said: “At first I started panicking, then nausea, vomiting, fear, anxiety. Before the neck spasm, my legs tense up, and then the spasm comes. During a spasm, I can’t breathe, speak, my eyes roll. I hear everything, understand everything, after a while I take a breath again and suffocate again, my neck turns either to the right or to the left, my jaw turns to the left. The last time there were three spasms in a row, but short, with breaks. During the first two spasms I fell asleep, during the third I did not fall asleep, but the spasm passed quickly. After a spasm, I feel weak, stiff in my legs and neck.”
The professor told us that Oleg has syncopal syndrome and “panic convulsions”, which are rare in medical practice. During the treatment, my son’s nausea went away, his appetite improved, he became calmer, more confident, braver, even grew 7 cm in these twenty days and lost several kilograms. It is visible even from things. Before, he was afraid to sit down somewhere, in the hospital he was afraid to take hold of the door handle, he was disgusted, now it’s all gone. Before the end of the treatment, we redid the encephalogram. There was no more epiactivity. The professor reassured me that in such children, the data of electrophysiological studies often do not correspond to the norm, and this causes diagnostic confusion.
We, as parents, carefully read another scientific work, Professor Rakhmanov’s monograph “Intrafamilial Neurosis”, and in one of the sections I read information similar to the story of my child. I was once again convinced that similar symptoms are one of the variants of the syncopal state.
After the treatment, my husband and I both improved our health. I became much calmer and more confident, the headaches stopped, I became less upset about my son’s condition, because I saw the real results of the treatment. The man already had sinusitis after several procedures.
The boy’s real name has been changed to Oleg for ethical reasons.
