Hello everyone. I’m the mother of Zabar Elyseyi, 7.5 years old, Nikopol, but since the beginning of the war we have been living in Lodz, Poland. Diagnosis of ASD, moderate mental retardation. Treatment began at 3.11. We have completed 10 stages, and in a couple of weeks we are going to the 11th stage. Before treatment: he said absolutely nothing, he didn’t even make any sounds, he was very selective in food, he didn’t pay attention to children, he undressed and ran around naked, he didn’t ride a scooter or a bicycle, and I can’t remember much else.
At the moment he speaks in sentences and can express what he wants. Answers more questions; if previously they only gave no, now they can give a more extensive answer. Sings songs. He reads, writes, counts, and can add and subtract numbers up to 10 in his head. He has become very smart. Independent: dresses, undresses, goes to the toilet, can butter a sandwich. There is still selectivity in nutrition, but the diet is still gradually increasing. Previously, when he saw food that he did not eat, he had a gag reflex.
In kindergarten he loves to play with children. But on the court with strangers he doesn’t yet know how to start playing. Works well in groups. He rides a bicycle very well.
In general, at the moment we can say that we have a healthy child, what else we want is more understanding, at the everyday level, understanding is 100%, but with big fantasies, we still need to work and work. We are very grateful to Professor Vagif Rakhmanov and the entire staff of the institute. We always look forward to the next stage of treatment and new results.
And I want to point out that everything came to us in very small steps. After the 1st stage – sounds, after the 2nd I learned the alphabet and began to say mom, dad; after the 3rd, I composed more syllables from letters, after the 4th, words appeared, after the 5th, phrases, after the 6th, my vocabulary gradually increased, after the 7th, short sentences, after the 8th, long sentences.
And of course, understanding also came gradually. All this is a lot of work and patience.
I also wanted to note that as soon as 3 months pass after treatment, Elisha begins to pack his suitcase and says that he already needs to go to the professor. After the previous treatment, we had a little more than a break of almost 4 months, so for a couple of weeks now we have prepared bags and suitcases in the middle of the apartment))) he even put his things there: his T-shirt, shorts, panties, flip-flops, rubber boots and even I put slippers and a T-shirt for dad.
