I have a son Sasha, now he is 6.5 years old. Diagnosis: speech developmental delay, ASD, ADHD, VSD. Hypogenesis of the corpus callosum. Symptomatic epilepsy. The baby was born deeply premature, weighing only 770g. From birth every day a struggle for life. The doctors did not give a chance. We have passed the stage of resuscitation and OPN. At the age of 3 months. Discharge home. Lagged behind in physical development. At 1.5 years old, he underwent surgery for a congenital inguinal hernia (under general anesthesia).
In 1g. 10 months began to notice that the child began to lag behind in mental development. He stopped responding to his name, lost eye contact. Look, as if past us like glass vision. Frequent episodes of withdrawal and pseudo-deafness. Gone are the 10 words that he uttered in 1 year, the pointing gesture disappeared. Bad sleep. Woke up in the middle of the night, screaming, crying or laughing for hours on end. We asked for help from many specialists. Many doctors said that the child is small, let him grow up and everything will be fine. But time passed, but there was practically no improvement in development.
From the age of 3, they began to carry out hardware correction: Bioacoustic correction, Tomatis, Soundsory. We tried to carry out drug correction with nootropics, sedatives, and various dietary supplements. Changes in mental health are minor. The child often suffered from ARVI and ARI, after which there was always a rollback in development. At 3.5 years old for the first time an episode of febrile seizures against the background of a high temperature and again a rollback. At the age of 6 years 4 months, a repeated episode of seizures against the background of a rise in temperature. Diagnosed with epilepsy. Depakine (an anticonvulsant drug) was prescribed. And again a rollback in the development of the child. Deterioration in behavior. Scream, squeak for any emotion. Manifestations of auto- and hetero- aggression. He hit his head on the floor, beat relatives. Deterioration of eye contact did not respond to a call. On the street, he behaved inadequately, often pulled out and ran out onto the road, did not respond to the call. The look changed, the child seemed to be replaced. There were episodes of headaches and gratuitous vomiting. Disturbed sleep at night, stopped sleeping during the day.
Observing our child, we began again to look for solutions to the problem. We learned about the professor in Dnipro from our acquaintances and decided to seek help, realizing that this might be the last chance for us to change something in our life. We were told on the phone that the professor does not take children with epilepsy, but we insisted on making an appointment for a consultation. When meeting with the professor, he told us that they arrived late, but there was a chance and we started treatment.
We have now completed stage 1. I noted that the child’s night sleep returned to normal. Sleeps until morning and does not wake up. Improving eye contact. Understands speech better and follows simple instructions. Reduction of auto and hetero-aggression. Scream less often. He began to take a spoon in his hand and eat on his own. Fewer episodes of withdrawal. During this time, there were no episodes of seizures, vomiting, and headaches. He tries to dress and put on his own shoes. He uses the toilet on his own and even tries to wipe his bottom with toilet paper. The manifestations of food allergies have decreased.
