My name is Asie. We are the Dzhemilev family: husband Akim, mother-in-law Elmira, children: Renat and Emilia, we have been living in Italy for 15 years. My son is 6 years old, he was diagnosed with severe autism at a local hospital (at the age of 3). Daughter Emilia is 3 years old, after an examination by psychologists she was diagnosed with ASD. To begin with, I want to tell you my story of how our children Renat and Emilia were born. After getting married, my husband and I could not have children for 5 years. We tried to treat ourselves with different methods: therapeutic mud, medicine, IVF, massages, magic, etc. Nothing worked.
One day we met a believer in God from Chechnya, after talking to us he decided to help us. He told us that in Dagestan there lives one holy girl Fatima (disabled from birth), she reads the holy book Koran, many people turn to her for help, she reads prayers and helps free of charge. Thus, our friend offered us his help, to contact her from a distance. He asked us to write our names by patronymic and future children with their names. Clothes for the babies were supposed to be added to this note, we decided to buy baby clothes for a boy and a girl.
In the end, we were lucky again, having learned that our friend from Chechnya, conveyed to the pilgrims from Dagestan, who were going to the holy Mecca, our request, together with children’s clothes, to make a circle around the Holy Place, to ask for a prayer for us, to have children and then go home and convey our message to the girl Fatima. Two months passed and they sent us children’s clothes. Fatima from Dagestan, advised that after the birth of our future children, they should wear these things.
Within three more months, the long-awaited pregnancy for our son occurred. The pregnancy at first proceeded without complications, and it was hard to believe in this miracle, I wanted to do everything, sell a small apartment, buy a house, make repairs before the birth of the child, and of course I took part in this.
By the 7th month of pregnancy, I had anemia, my stomach often hardened and was in good shape. Experience, stress, temporary housing in a damp room while repairs were being done, led to premature birth. The labor was long, irregular contractions and as a result, after two days, our Renat was born. We were discharged as a healthy child.
Everything was fine until he was six months old, no problems, a calm, quiet boy. But when we took him to the children’s clinic to get a full set of vaccinations like everyone else, I saw the difference between mine and other children. It turned out that mine simply did not look at them, he did not respond to his name, although it seemed too early to me, he did not wave his hand to others, he did not coo like others.
And here the first warning signs began. And after the vaccinations, things got even worse. Renat became more and more isolated, did not want to contact us, did not look us in the eyes. He laid out his toys strictly in a row, preferred only the color purple. He slept poorly and did not talk. I began to feel uneasy, to live in fear with an iron grip on my chest, I fell into depression, I wanted to close myself off from everyone, not to hear or see people. My loved ones calmed me down, advised me to wait, saying that boys develop more slowly than girls. But by the age of 3, the picture had not changed, on the contrary, the behavior had become atypical. Unreasonable fits of laughter, crying, hysteria, choosing one route – and not a step to the side … We could not be in the store either.
We turned to a psychiatrist, a neurologist, and then our endless examinations and trips began. What we did not do: they took tests, did an encephalogram. The examinations did not reveal any damage: Renat was physiologically absolutely healthy. We were diagnosed with autism.
The period from 2 to 5 years was the hardest for our family. Renat’s unreasonable hysterics, which we could not cope with, knocked us off track. We tried a gluten-free diet… Nothing helped. Everything around us was collapsing, we didn’t notice any little things, we didn’t think about our own desires, we had no time for that. I just wanted it to stop someday, at least for today, so I could sleep and not die.
Then I realized that with autism I would have to walk alongside, push every door and look for a way out of it. I looked on the Internet, according to reviews, how you can help a child with such a diagnosis. And only Professor Rakhmanov inspired trust and faith in the future. Getting to him radically changed the situation. He gave us a chance, hope for the best in our lives.
The first stage of treatment was unexpected for us, having learned through Instagram that the Professor was in Italy last year (August 2023) and went to Baku, we packed our suitcases in a few days without thinking. My mother-in-law, husband and Renat visited a beautiful city, met the Professor. The first question was from Vagif Mamedovich, why didn’t they bring the second child? We were very surprised by this, so as at that time all the attention and worries were on the older child.
During the treatment, Renat began to play actively, fall asleep on his own – without rocking, ate with appetite, matured before our eyes. When my husband sent me a video, it was hard to believe in such changes. In Azerbaijan, he walked with interest, visited cafes and restaurants, could calmly eat and drink traditional tea.
Grandmother Elmira was pleased that she got treatment and did not regret it. Her mood and sleep improved, headaches decreased, and she became more cheerful. Before the treatment, his arm was numb, his joints in his legs hurt, now it is in the past. My husband’s immunity has strengthened, he has peace of mind, and his irritability has gone away. After returning from Baku, our Renat began to sleep better, try meat, chew, his pronunciation of letters and understanding of speech have improved, and his unreasonable hysterics have gone away. Before the first stage trip to the Professor, we changed everything. We moved to another city, knowing that he loves water, found a future home near the sea, a school with excellent teachers and psychologists.
The most difficult thing for me was how they would accept my son’s strange behavior at school, the reaction of people on the street. Thanks to the support of my husband and loved ones, I found the strength to direct all my energy to raising our special child and improving his quality of life. A favorable environment at home, plus Vagif Mamedovich’s treatment, as well as the professional approach of the specialists of the correctional center – all this gave a good result.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, Emilia was born unplanned. She came to our family like a warm sun, a ray of joy and light. She was born on the day of the Nativity of the Catholic Church – December 25. As I remember now, it was hard to find doctors in the hospital, everyone wanted to relax and accept me tomorrow, but Amy wanted to be born on her due date and on that day. Pregnancy without complications, successful delivery, a daughter was born with a smile on her face.
I began to have doubts with thoughts that she would also be born with the spectrum. But I saw a big difference in development between my daughter and son. She responded to her name, smiled, slept well, was interested in any toys. But from the moment she grew up, I did not see communication with children, she did not respond to her brother, and also had a delay in speech development, selectivity in food. This prompted us to contact a psychologist, who, based on the eldest son, registered us.
And then I realized that it was pointless to waste time and we took our daughter to the second stage of treatment. Thanks to our Professor, as he said, we contacted in time! Exactly one year after the first stage, we were invited to Sicily, where a meeting and treatment with the Professor was planned. This time the whole family went, including me. The kind and responsive hostess of the house Oksana organized all the amenities, a cozy atmosphere, wonderful hospitality, where each family felt the warmth.
Also during the treatment period, we celebrated the event of three birthday boys: the hostess Oksana, Matvey (5 years old), and my husband Akim.
In a homely atmosphere, with delicious snacks, national dishes, our parents were cheerful and relaxed. Our children tried the food, sat at the table, willy-nilly made contact with each other. Daily conversations with parents, instructions from the Professor, meetings, helped us find answers to all questions. We received treatment as a family and felt like we were on vacation. For me personally, the treatment brought calm, panic fear went away, most importantly, I forgot about the pain in my knees, which had bothered me for the last three years. Grandma feels younger and full of energy.
During the treatment, my daughter’s speech barrier broke through, she began to speak with emotions, express her resentment, desire, jealousy towards her brother appeared, she repeated after him, she demands attention from us, her pointing gesture improved, she understands jokes, the difference between opposite meanings of words.
After the second stage, my son’s appetite improved by 180 degrees. He tries new food, before that we fed him with a spoon, now he takes it from our hand and eats on his own. At home, he began to read simple words by syllables. He often smiles, looks well into the eyes, asks for what he needs. After the treatment, my children began to communicate with each other perfectly. My daughter Emilia (3 years old) opens the latest edition of the Professor’s book and looks for Vagif Mamedovich in the pictures.

Long life, good health, and a quick meeting with you.💕💕💕 Dear parents, do not lose faith in God, we are going through a huge test with our children, they are our teachers, thanks to them we look at the world in a new way, thanks to them we understand the value of every little thing in life. Set yourself up only for the best. Do not absorb negativity. “Disconnect” yourself from frightening people, unpleasant conversations and circumstances.
I want people to be understanding of autistic children. No one is immune from this disease. I wish the parents of special children not to despair and not to become weak. Accept the situation and do not look for reasons.
