Good afternoon. I’m the mother of Elisey Zabara from Nikopol, but since the beginning of the war we have lived in Poland, Lodz. Age 7.11 years. Diagnosis: ASD, moderate mental retardation. This year he went to first grade in Poland to a special school and online to a regular school in Ukraine. Treatment began on 3.11. We have completed 11 stages, and in a couple of days we are going to stage 12.
Before treatment: he said absolutely nothing, almost no sounds; very selective in food; did not pay attention to children; undressed and ran naked; did not ride a scooter or a bike; and many other things I can’t remember. At the moment, he speaks in sentences, can express what he wants. He answers questions more often, if earlier he only answered yes or no, now he can give a more extensive answer. He sings songs. He reads, writes, counts, sculpts, draws. He has become very smart, independent.
He quickly learns the material at the Polish school. We study once a week at the online school, but he sits more or less well, answers in class. He is still selective about food, but his diet is gradually increasing. Previously, when he saw food that he does not eat, he had a gag reflex. At school, he wants to communicate with children, but so far there are difficulties with this, he does not know how to properly engage them in a game. And he does not know how to get to know each other. He does well in groups. He rides a bike perfectly. After the last stage, he actively sculpts from plasticine, he uses up a pack a day)))

In general, at the moment, compared to what he had, we can say that we have a healthy child, what else do we want is more understanding, 100% understanding at the everyday level, but with something big, to fantasize, we still need to work on this. And I want to draw attention to the fact that everything came to us in very small steps. After the 1st stage – sounds, after the 2nd he learned the alphabet and began to say mama, papa; after the 3rd, he began to put syllables together from letters, after the 4th, words appeared, after the 5th, phrases, after the 6th, his vocabulary gradually increased, after the 7th, short sentences, after the 8th, already long sentences, after the 10th, answers to questions, now he tries to speak in sentences himself, and not only when asked.
And of course, understanding also came gradually. All this requires a lot of work and patience. And there are also periods of exacerbation, these days are difficult. Because our obedient child turns into a hurricane, but then there is always an improvement.
We are very grateful to Professor Vagif Mamedovich Rakhmanov and the entire staff of the institute. We always look forward to meeting you.
