Hello! My name is Tanya, I am Glib’s mother (he is 5 years old, we asked for help when he was 3 years and 2 months old). The diagnosis is autism. We are from the village of Kamianske, Zaporizhia region. We now live in Kyiv. Phone: 067 173 89 82.
I noticed the first signs of autism after two years: eye contact weakened, Glib stopped responding to his name, speech disappeared, “wings” appeared. Back then, I still hoped that these were just the consequences of stress — I was waiting for dad to return soon and everything would get better… our dad went missing in April 2022 during the defense of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
Time passed. We visited doctors, they prescribed nootropics, but I didn’t give them – I didn’t see the point. We worked with a speech therapist, went to sensory integration – there were small successes. Later I realized: we can’t wait any longer, we need to go to the professor, I knew about the institute but it was scary – how will I cope on my own?
But in May 2023 we arrived for the first stage of treatment.
Our complaints at the beginning:
• No eye contact
• Does not understand the language addressed
• Walks on tiptoes
• Strong disgust for food (did not pick up anything)
• No speech
• Ignoring children and animals
• Communication disorders
• Lack of interest in toys
• Sleep disorders (fell asleep only when rocked on his feet for a long time, woke up with tantrums)
• Restlessness
• Does not ask to go to the toilet
• Does not dress or undress independently
• Stereotypical behavior and stims
• Weak gross and fine motor skills
• Unreasonable laughter
• Nervousness
• Did not turn around when called
• Did not fulfill requests
• Did not eat by himself
• Did not walk by hand – only on his hands or in a stroller
10/19/2025 we have already completed the 7th stage. And here are our achievements:
• eye contact
• sleep has improved
• Shows interest in children, can approach, touch or stroke
• Plays with his sister, they now have their own coalition against mom 😅
• has become mischievous, he is always curious about how cereal is poured out, cream is smeared on the mirror, drawers are opened
• encourages himself to play or communicate, asks to be hugged
• Disgust for food has disappeared: eats fruit with his hands, takes sandwiches, tries to eat with a spoon
• Responds to his name, reacts to the gentle words we call him
