Treatment of speech delay, ADHD (stage 2)

Good day! I’m Marina, mother of Ihnat (3 years 9 months). City Vinnytsia. Tel. 380631261041. Diagnosis: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, speech delay. We started treating our son when he was 2 years old. We took him to neurologists, took the prescribed medications. We brought him to neurologists again, they told us that we would ground the child, he would outgrow it. But after a year and a half of treatment, there was almost no progress in my son’s behavior. Moreover, compared to his peers, his conversational speech, understanding of what was happening, social contact with his parents stopped at the level of a year and a half. To be honest, we were on the verge of despair.

We are currently going through stage 2. In March of this year, our treatment with a professor began, stage 1. My son is physically well developed. Compared to his peers, he runs and jumps better, and does everything dexterously. He is very sociable, seeks communication with children, especially older ones. He treats his younger sister well, sometimes entertains her. In general, he is a cheerful child, only he wants fun.

Complaints that we addressed to the professor:
– Hyperactivity. My son runs aimlessly all day, jumps, throws things around, turns everything upside down at home. He runs away in the street. Although he knows where the road is and that he needs to cross it on a green light. He scolds his dad if he crosses on a red light.
– Attention deficit. The child cannot listen to the end, does not show interest, attentiveness, when we try to teach. Does not want to listen to books being read. He remembers better from educational cartoons. He repeats words, actions, emotions and all sorts of nonsense after them.
– Poor spoken language. Very small vocabulary. Does not always respond to speech addressed to him. If asked to repeat, no desire to repeat. Doesn’t speak in phrases.
– Takes a long time to fall asleep in the evening. We put him to bed for 2-3 hours.
– Attachment to gadgets
– Bites his nails
– Asks to poop only in a diaper, although he goes to the toilet to pee.
– Monotony in nutrition

We did not go to support (3 days). During the period between treatments, we noticed the following improvements:
– He falls asleep quickly in the evening (before treatment, he had a daytime nap, now he refuses. But before treatment, when he didn’t sleep during the day, he still fell asleep for 2-3 hours.
– His spoken language has improved a little. He started saying phrases. Sometimes new words appear.
– He stopped biting his nails
– He often behaves more calmly on the street. In the store, he can calmly wait for his turn.

We started taking him to the LEGO development club. He likes being in a group, although he can’t force himself to behave adequately.
Now we have hope that we will be able to overcome our son’s diagnosis. The first stage of treatment – and already visible improvements!

For me, the treatment of my nerves was a pleasant and unexpected bonus. I began to react a little calmer to “antics” of the child.
